Nagpur News : “Synergy Conclave on Indigenisation of High Strength Aluminium Alloys at Indian Ordnance Factory Ambajhari , Nagpur held on 27th Feb’ 2024”

Nagpur News : Ordnance Factory Ambajhari (OFAJ), a unit of Yantra India Limited, Govt. of India Enterprise, Ministry of Defence, engage in manufacturing of High Strength Aluminium Alloys use for Defence and Aerospace applications.

OFAJ possess state of the art, manufacturing facilities comprising of 15T twin Melting and Holding Furnaces, automated Direct chill casting, homogenising furnace, billet cutting and turning machines, automatic ultrasonic testing systems. Also, OFAJ has India’s biggest Extrusion Press of 6500T, Vertical Solution Heat Treatment Furnace, Stretching Machines 1500T capacity, Ageing Furnace, Pressure Die Casting facilities and major Aluminium Fabrication Facility for manufacturing of Floats and Dry Bridges, state of the art NABL accredited Material Test Laboratory and other production and testing facilities.

With the unique facilities of its kind in India, OFAJ is a one stop solution provider for indigenous manufacturing of high strength Al. Alloy cast and extruded products.

In order to create a synergy between manufacturer, users, certification body and R&D establishments towards achieving self-reliant country in the field of Defence and Aerospace Al. Alloys products, OFAJ, organised a one day “Synergy Conclave on Indigenisation of High Strength Aluminium Alloys” on 27th Feb. 2024 at Annapurna Hall, YITM, OFAJ Campus, Nagpur-440021 under the leadership of Shri Anjan Kumar Mishra, General Manager/OFAJ.

The conclave started with the Inaugural address by Honourable CMD, YIL Shri Rajeev Puri where he emphasized more on collaborative approach towards defence manufacturing than competitive approach in achieving goal of “Atmanirbharta in Defence Manufacturing”. Board of directors from YIL Shri Gurudatta Ray and Shri R.S Lal also graced the event by their presence. Esteemed dignitaries from M/s Hindalco-HAAL, M/s HAL, M/s Vedanta, Aeronautical Defence Agency, DGAQA,M/s Jawaharlal Nehru Aluminium Research Development & Design centre, M/s Century Extrusions Ltd., Ordnance factory Ambarnath, HEPF, DMRL and JSR Dynamics Limited, Nagpur made embarked the success of event with the presentations related to their capabilities and technologies related to the Indigenisation of High Strength Aluminium Alloys.

OFAJ also showcased its manufacturing strength under the guidance of Shri R.D Barma, AGM/OFAJ by taking the team towards industry set up to explore the business opportunities in the field of Defence, Aerospace and other industries dealing with high strength Al. Alloys amongst all the stake holders in the country.
